Art Editions Asia
1 March - 30 March
Vibrant in hue and style, Art Editions Asia features new and retrospective work from Indonesia, Cambodia and China. Artists range from the established and esteemed, such as Bayu Widodo to the emerging and exciting, like Club Sip, a group of Yogyakartans in their early 20’s. Newsagency Gallery has garnered a reputation for showing the most interesting and accessible Asian artists and Art Collectives around today. The show features Bayu (fresh from the NGA), Krack Studios, Survive Garage, Ace House Collective and Sip Club from Indonesia. From Cambodia, Sticky Fingers’ reworking of the imagery of famed 60’s girl-band Dara Puspita stands out along with China’s Idlebeats and Benoit + Bo. Whether it’s bright pop-colour, politics or ‘the imaginings, of the dreams of cats’ you are looking for, you’ll find it here. All works priced between $80 and $400.
